Infinite Hope:
Since its’ inception in early 2004 in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, Infinite Hope, an all-volunteer not-for-profit rescue group affiliated with Hope Veterinary Clinic, has placed over 300 cats (and a few dogs) into well-suited and caring homes. The organization has a core a group of concerned individuals, who volunteer their time and resources toward the cause of eliminating the problem of stray, unaltered animals in New York City. Infinite Hope is committed to a 100% “no-kill” philosophy, and will not take in animals beyond its capacity to properly care for them.
While under the care of Infinite Hope, all of our rescued animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive interaction with our volunteers, and all necessary medical care, including:
• a complete vet exam
• treatment for any parasites (worms, fleas, ear mites, etc.)
• spaying and neutering (if 5 months of age or older)
• testing for communicable feline diseases (FIV and FeLV)
Though we are not a shelter, we are fortunate to have a small adoption center at Hope Veterinary Clinic. Please note that we are a local New York City, community-based not-for-profit adoption group. We ask that anyone interested in adopting a new companion visit the adoption center and set up a time to meet the available cats, to ensure a good match for all.
All potential adopters are required to complete our adoption application; once an application has been approved, the adopter must sign our adoption agreement. If adopting a kitten under 5-6 months of age, the adopter must agree to spay or neuter once the kitten is old enough for the procedure.
Additionally, we require a minimum donation of $150 per cat. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each cat and kitten we rescue, and helps us to continue our ongoing rescue efforts.
Adoption is a life-long commitment
It is not unusual for cats to live 17 to 22 years. Cats are loyal creatures who become attached to their human companions, and are devastated if given up. Please do not adopt an animal if you cannot make a life-long commitment to the cat or kitten in question.

Volunteering
Infinite Hope is always looking for new volunteers. One of their main needs right now are “meeters and greeters”. This means volunteering on the weekends and being available to meet with interested people about available cats for adoption, setting up play dates, and accepting applications. Also in need are volunteers to help with fundraising by helping to plan and execute more exciting events. And there is always a need for foster homes for kitties needing socialization or a break from the adoption area for a while.
If you are interested in any these aspects of volunteering please download an application and either fax it to 718-852-4249, or drop it off at the front desk at Hope Veterinary Services.

*While we make every effort to keep our Petfinder listings up to date, not all of our available animals are posted on Petfinder. All posted animals are subject to prior adoption, and it is not possible to hold animals, or complete the application process for someone who has not yet visited our clinic.
